Knox Museum helps fund Flat Lick History Club

The Knox Historical Museum recently helped fund a history Club at Flat Lick Elementary School with the help of former Flat Lick resident Helen Mills a former student at the school.

Ms. Susan Childers, the club sponsor, plans to work with the museum in an effort to get her school and community to take a more active part in support of county historical events, such as the Daniel Boone Festival.  The museum hopes to fund history clubs at other county schools in the near future.

"She plans to bring her students to the museum in the near future and will be discussing possible projects she, her students, and the Museum staff can work on together," said Knox Historical Museum President Michael C. Mills.

Mills also said the Museum hopes to support the establishment and growth of history clubs at other schools in Knox County next school year.
