Albert L. Gregory was interviewed on June 27, 1991 by Wm. Sherman Oxendine and Jakalyn Jackson.

While the focus of the interview was on education, other aspects of Mr. Gregory's life were discussed.

He was a teacher in the Knox County School system for some 35 years and was considered a positive influence on his students and a quiet spokesman and agent for the improvement of living conditions of southeastern Kentucky blacks for over fifty years.

Mr. Gregory taught at Rosenwald, Knox Central High and Boone schools in Knox County, Kentucky. He also was well known as an authority on the training of horses, nationwide as well as throughout Kentucky, and served in WWII. Mr. Gregory died in 1999 and is buried in Rosenwald Cemetery in Knox County, Kentucky.
